Riding the highways for Christ

Meeting Minutes

Carolina Faith Riders – RBBC Meeting May 1, 2008

Members Present: Greg, Mike, Alden, Steve, Brian, Tom, and Raymond

Pastor Steve opened the meeting with prayer.

Old Business:

Bikers Rest Stop: Main topic for discussion was the Bikers Rest Stop May 8-10 during daylight hours. Setup Thursday afternoon (after working hours). Mike will have a camper parked during the entire event. Tom will provide a tent. We will use the tables and chairs from the church.
Food/drink: Raymond will be getting the food: Hotdogs/Buns, drinks, chips, and condiments. Raymond will also be getting popcorn makings for the Popcorn machine (which Pastor Steve is getting returned to Church). Alden will provide ice and water coolers from the Fire Department.
Banners: Alden will spearhead the placement of the large banners received from Pepsi Cola. Possible locations Abandoned Chevron gar station by Glenburnie/MLK Blvd, Rocky Run/Hwy 70 intersection (1st) and perhaps another prior the Church. Our club banner will be placed on the tent onsite or moved as needed. Tom has agreed to do lettering on the banners such as “Bikers Rest Stop –Free food- Clean Restrooms - *miles ahead. Tom will also be getting the markers to do the banners. Youth are to be requested to assist making smaller directional signs.
Misc. things: Mr. Ralph will be contacted about placing the Rest Stop info on the Church Sign. 1st aid supplies will be provided by Fire Department arranged by Alden and Raymond will bring sunscreen. If you purchase any items for the event, SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS.

Joint Ride: A review of last Sundays ride was held. Guess who got wet? It was agreed that future joint rides will occur usually on the last Sunday of the month. New Business:

Goldsboro Run: A ride is planned this Saturday at 1pm meeting at the Church. We plan on going to the Christian Soldier Store in Goldsboro and maybe eat at McCall's home of the world's best peach cobbler. Raymond is planning the route (4 lanes BAD/2 lanes GOOD)

Carolina Faith Riders – RBBC Meeting June 5, 2008

Members Present: Greg, Mike, Brian, Frank, and Raymond

Brian opened the meeting with prayer.

Old Business:

Bikers Rest Stop. A review of the Biker Rest Stop was held. All agreed it was successful with little if any to be changed. More prior advertising needs to be done next time with flyers at bike shops and placing notice at internet bike sites.

Rev'd Magazine. It was decided to purchase 50 issues for the club and for placement around town. New Business:

July 4 Parade. We are schedule to ride in the River Bend July 4th parade and also set up a table for display and tracks. The parade starts at 10:00 am but we need to be there to set up our booth by 8:30-8:45 am and line up for the parade no later then 9:15 am.

Raymond will be responsible for signing up the club and Mike has a small yard tent to set up under. If you attend PLEASE WEAR YOUR CFR T-SHIRT.

Shrine Run: Members wishing to ride in the Shriner Charity Event will meet at the Church Saturday June 7 at 8:40-9:00. The Ride starts in down town New Bern at 10:00 am and goes for 175 miles. Cost is $20.00

CFR Letter Head & Stamps: Raymond will check on obtaining CFR letter head, envelopes, and a rubber stamp with club info from Vista Print. We will then start stamping tracks, Bibles, and Rev'd magazines with our club info.

Biker Church: Greg is looking into setting up a Sunday ride to attend a Biker Church Service in the Cary area.

New Members: We welcomed our newest members, Frank and Joanne to the Club.

Special Projects: Mike requested help in setting up assistance for our Church members who need things done but can't due to finances or health. Anybody willing that has handyman skills should see him.

Joint Ride: June 22 at 12:30 pm is the next date for a ride with Brices Creek Bible Church. We will be leaving the Church after regular service and heading to Beaufort for lunch.

Monthly Rides: Raymond, as Road Captain, will try to set up at least two rides monthly leaving from the Church. And of course, there will be a stop for eating!

Website: It was decide to post the minutes from the meetings on the website. Also we still need info for the Testimonies Section. To clarify, a testimony is sharing an experience where God has worked in your life. It can be about salvation, inspiration, or times of desperation. What has God done for you that really stands out in your memory?

Carolina Faith Riders – RBBC Meeting July 3rd, 2008

Members Present: Mike, Neil, Steve, Brian, and Raymond, Visiting: Tad Castellow from Spring Garden Baptist Church

Raymond opened the meeting with prayer.

Old Business:

Cliffs of the Neuse Ride:Details of the Children of Israel ride to the Cliffs of the Neuse State Park ride were discussed. It was decided that every ride should have a special time set for scripture and prayer.
River Bend July 4th ParadeFinal details concerning the parade were discussed. We have a spot reserved behind the Town Commons sign to set up a booth. The youth will have a float and they will carry our banner. New Business:

Guest: Special welcome to Tad Castellow from Spring Garden Baptist Church. Tad, a Harley rider, may join or start a chapter at his church, a blessing either way. 1 Chronicles 4:10

Ayden BBQ Run A ride is planned this Saturday at 10 am meeting at the Church. We plan on going to Captial BBQ, one of the best in the south. This early departure time should allow those who wish to participate in the Soup Kitchen Ministry
