Identity Theft

Identity theft is a very serious crime that not only destroys a victims credit, it leaves the victim emotional devastated. Sometimes it takes years to get over the effects of this crime and repair the damage that has been done. This crime occurs when someone uses a person's personal information, (social security number, date of birth, bank card numbers, credit card and atm card information etc.), to open credit accounts. The perpetrators then purchase items such as cars, jewelry, and electronics and in some instances "HOUSES".

For more information on how to prevent this crime and what to do if you become a victim stop by the Trent Woods Police Department or go to the Federal Trade Commission's web site by clicking here.

Town Parking Ordinance

The Trent Woods Board of Commissioners recently passed a new Town parking Ordinance. This ordinance was passed to protect our citizens from accidents involving vehicles being left unattended on the paved portion of our streets. Unfortunately the state law, which addresses this type of problem, does not apply inside municipal corporate limits of a city or town. This ordinance does not prevent a vehicle from being parked on the street right of way unless the area has been marked as a no parking zone. There are currently no "No Parking Zones" designated in the town limits. If you have any questions about this ordinance please do not hesitate to call the police department at (252) 637-3030. For a copy of this ordinance click on the link below.
